Receive the Holy Spirit

Day of Inauguration

A day to be engraved in the annals of St. Ann’s Society. During the morning worship and the Holy Eucharist the Sisters prayed for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. The solemn moments of inauguration began with the procession from the chapel to the chapter hall followed by enthronement of the Bible, Aarthi and lighting the traditional lamp by the General team in the hall. The significant moment of the Chapter began with the inaugural address of the Superior General Sr. Tresa Ann. With overwhelming sense of gratitude to God and deep sense of fulfillment and joy she dealt in depth on the theme of the General Chapter “New life in Christ – Starting afresh in the footsteps of our Founder, Fr. Wilhelm Meyer”. She focused on renewal of one’s interior life and transmitting it to the mission. Exhorting the participants to be infused with the Spirit of the Divine to fulfill the responsibilities during the Chapter in accordance to the Will of God, she declared the General Chapter open at 10.10am on 5 September 2012. The rest of the morning was spent in election of office bearers to various tasks.

In the afternoon, a detailed report of the Society and its growth and development for the past six years was presented by the Superior General Sr. Tresa Ann and the report on Health Care apostolate, Nursing Education, Education and Social Apostolate were presented in PPT by the General Councilors Srs. Romana and Sumitha Paul and Mary Anto (Co-ordinator of Education) respectively.

With gratitude in the hearts and praise in the lips, the Sisters gathered at the feet of the Lord for a brief moment of adoration. Deo Gratias.
