SR.PAULA GRAF: Born in Schoetz, Switzerland, the birthplace of our Founder, she took a daring step at the age of 27 to serve the people of India and arrived on January 21, 1948. She established a hospital in Tuticorin, Tamil Nadu and worked as the Superior and Administrator of St.Ann’s hospital, Vijayawada.She was a person of few words, ardently spiritual, gentle, calm and composed, disciplined, multi-talented and a personification of the Angel of Charity. She carried with her the flame of compassion in service; brought alive the spirit of our founder and the true meaning of missionary life. Lovingly called by everyone as “Periamma”, she was a mother to many orphans and she lit the light of hope in their lives. Sr. Paula was the last Swiss missionary among the 34 Swiss pioneers who worked amidst us and she left this world on 20.10.2009.
