EAST AFRICAN MISSION - TANZANIA

Passing of time creates history and history unfolds many mysteries; and these mysteries make the lives of people eventful and these events fashion the course of the destiny. A passion for the disadvantaged people of Africa paved the way for the apostolic mission. September 12, 1990, was an epoch making day in the history of the Missionary Sisters of St. Ann when two missionaries landed in Tanzania. The first community was established in Ipuli, in the Archdiocese of Tabora. Now there are 48 Sisters in 9 communities working in the Regions of Tabora, Kahama, Morogoro, Arusha, Bukoba and Dar es Salaam in Tanzania and Nairobi in Kenya.

Our Focus :

·        To manifest the efficacious and healing presence of God among the wounded;

·        To bring good fortunes in the lives of misfortune ones through our apostolic services;

·        To raise awareness among the youth, specially the girls, and lead in bringing on liberation, justice and prosperity.

Our Socio Apostolic Services :-

“For Jesus, you are the Compassionate Samaritan, washing wounds, in short, bearing the discomforts of a vocation full of sacrifices” (Fr.Wilhelm Meyer). Our Lord Jesus Christ and Our Founder Fr.Wilhelm Meyer invite us today to be Samaritans who are moved by the wounded, half-dead humanity to carry them to new inns of healing and liberation. Addressing the need of the area, nurturing its vitality and using its resourcefulness, through meaningful social mission activities, we make Christ’s presence visible.
